Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop components of task and competency indicators for housing welfare professional who works at On-site myhome center. The research process consists of two parts. Firstly, analysing of jobs and competency indicators were developed and revised through comprehensive literature review, focus group interview, and questionnaire survey on 6 experts in housing welfare area. Next, questionnaire survey from 15 housing welfare pofessional in On-site myhome center was performed in order to analyze the importance of the competency components. As a result of this research, selected competency indicators were settled as followed : the competency indicators for housing welfare professional consisted of 3 competency clusters, 15 competency factors, 55 competency indicators. Housing welfare professional recognized attitude and personal trait as the most important competency clusters, and understanding housing welfare recipient, counseling capability, capability of coordination of jobs & duties, ability to collaborate with related agencies as important factors in the competency indicators. The results of this study will used as tool for evaluating the job and competency of housing welfare professional, establishing professional identity, and providing an importance knowledge base for developing educational curriculum for them.
