Abstract

The purpose of this study is to propose a plan to activate parenting-friendly housing living service by identifying the dual income families with children’s need for housing living services in public rental housing. The subjects of this study include 12 working wives raising preschool children among dual income families without house living in the metropolitan area. This study researched childcare support services and housekeeping services needed in public rental housing through online preliminary survey. This study also investigated the specific reasons and operation plan through one-on-one phone interviews based on the online service. The study results are as follows. First, it is necessary to provide all-day childcare, after-school childcare, urgent care, and dinner as a childcare support service. Second, cleaning and meal service are also needed as a housekeeping support service. Third, in order to successfully provide community-based housing living service, common efforts between managers and residents are required, such as completing education about services and problem solving. Fourth, it is necessary to plan a flexible shared space that meets the needs of residents and to arrange housing service specialists for customized housing living service. Finally, there is a need for an online platform that provides more convenient housing living services.
