Abstract

The purpose of this study is to suggest a new direction of smart home planning that promotes health and welfare for middle-aged people with different characteristics of the elderly. This research analyzed the various activities that middle-aged people have in relation to health in the home, and identified what kind of health support services are needed. The subjects for the survey were the people in the 40s and 50s. As a result, they felt that their physical life was busy with their social responsibilities, while their physical functions were somewhat lower. Their interest in health was very high. Most of them were able to maintain health through exercise or dietary control, not having chronic disease, and their physical difficulties were minimal in activities. The demand for travel, hobbies, and sports were high. This study proposed three types of health - support housing services for middle-aged people: daily life support, community activity support, and health maintenance. In the case of middle-aged people, it is necessary to provide more services to support community activities compared to the case of elderly people. Health care should be done at the preventive level rather than the therapeutic point of view and should be done in the direction of improving life and life in the residence.
