Since the early 2000s, support for the preservation of hanok has been promoted by local governments, especially in Bukchon Hanok Village in Seoul and Jeonju Hanok Village, and with the implementation of the Hanok Building Asset Act in 2015, the legal basis for hanok support and promotion policies was established. prepared. Since then, as the demand for hanok has increased nationwide and the cultural value of hanok has increased, the number of visiting tourists has increased, and Suwon City has also actively implemented a hanok support policy. Accordingly, through an analysis of the characteristics of Hanok support ordinances across the country and a comparison of cases in Jeonju and Seoul, we studied the trend of Hanok revitalization based on the characteristics of Suwon City’s subsidies and support performance. As a result, Jeonju and Seoul showed an ‘M’ shaped trend. , Suwon City showed a ‘⼀’ shaped trend. In other words, despite Suwon City’s high subsidy, the number of applications was insufficient. Therefore, it was proposed that Suwon City should seek preservation and support measures through research and analysis of aged Hanoks that have not received existing support, and prepare measures to respond to controversies such as infringement of property rights caused by cultural properties. We hope that this will contribute to citizens’ enjoyment of Hanok culture.
