Abstract

This study conducted a housing satisfaction survey of Seoul apartment residents to find out the factors affecting the housing satisfaction of Seoul apartment residents as housing in Korea changes from quantitative to qualitative supply. The housing satisfaction survey consists of housing characteristics, household characteristics, complex characteristics, and neighborhood environment characteristics. Accordingly, in order to find out the factors affecting housing satisfaction, we requested a survey on housing satisfaction by further subdividing the sub-factors of the independent variables. As a result of analyzing 300 survey copies and 263 empirical copies online using an ordinal logistic model, the following meaningful conclusions were drawn. The results of this study are as follows. Housing satisfaction was high due to the overall neighborhood environment factors around residential areas. Due to the administrative welfare center’s role as a convenience facility for residents such as administration, culture, welfare facilities, and lifelong education, accessibility to the administrative welfare center was found to have a significant impact on residential satisfaction. Access to kindergarten has a significant impact on housing satisfaction because children’s safety in commuting to school is important. Relationships with neighbors, a positive factor in residential satisfaction, are meaningful in terms of the importance of harmony through relationships and interactions for a sense of belonging. Due to the characteristics of the households, residents of rental housing were found to have low housing satisfaction.
