User Evaluation of Satisfaction of Community Center in Revitalizing Rural Center in Jeollabuk-do

Abstract

This study aims to identify feedback on the participation of residents and the use of the community center, which was intended to promote the hub village, by evaluating users’ opinions and satisfaction. The interview data were collected by 157 users from community centers in five regions in Jeollabuk-do, and the data were analyzed using the Jammovi 1.2 program. As a result of data analysis, 1) Users recognized that their opinions were only sought by gathering and discussing their opinions while building a rural community center. 2) The users’ satisfaction (convenience, comfort, and purpose) of the centers was above average. Convenience had the highest satisfaction with accessibility of location; comfort had the highest satisfaction with appearance form; and purposefulness had the highest satisfaction with local users’ pride. 3) However, their use of the centers was low, which made it difficult for various age groups to use the center, lack of continuous program operation, and problems with operation management. In conclusion, the trial of a method of collecting opinions from users in the process of building a rural community center was inadequate. However, the method need was confirmed and the center was proven to have a positive effect on strengthening the central function and improving users’ quality of life.
