This study attempted to study the characteristics of the floor plan composition of traditional houses on the Korean Peninsula. The purpose of the study was to analyze the distribution of traditional houses in southern Gangwon-do and northern Gyeongsangbuk-do and derive characteristics of each type. First, the research aims to trace the location of private houses located in southern Gangwon and northern Gyeongsangbuk-do to derive the distribution of local traditional houses, and to clarify microscopic differences in residential life and culture areas that have spatial differences for each traditional house. Second, patterns in which the basic type of the surveyed plane and similar types are derived, space is added, or expanded were analyzed, and these were divided into single and overlapping series and analyzed in a time series (視系列). Based on this, it is intended to give meaning by deriving the distribution and planar characteristics of private houses by residential and cultural area. Based on this, the detailed types of traditional houses were tracked for each residential and cultural area to derive flat characteristics, and the distribution of houses by living area was created and visualized. These characteristics were interpreted as a phenomenon of residential transformation caused by differences in residential culture and convergence between local private houses.
