Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a housing stress assessment framework and measuring indicators that can explore the causes of housing stress in relation to housing. The research method is as follows. First, detailed indicators were derived based on related literature and keywords that appeared in newspaper articles after COVID-19. Considering the characteristics of these indicators, the basic structure of the assessment framework was created, and a preliminary assessment framework was constructed by assigning specific indicators corresponding to each category. Second, the appropriateness of the contents and composition of the preliminary assessment framework and detailed indicators was identified. For this, two-stage Delphi surveys were conducted with 17 experts using a semi-structured questionnaire. Third, The final housing stress measurement tool was completed by reflecting the opinions from five people. The main results of the study are as follows: The assessment framework for identifying housing stress consisted of four main domains including personal, environmental, economic, and social area. Detailed indicators for each assessment domain included indicators related to health status and family life in the personal area, indicators related to community infrastructure, community safety, and housing and living environment satisfaction in the environmental area, indicators related to income and expenditure in the economic area, and social situation in the social area. The final measurement tool was developed by including indicators of activities, relationships, and social inclusion.
