Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the public nature of the fishing village New Deal project, which aims to create marine tourism jobs and revitalize the fishing village economy, and to analyze the public expression shown in the plan. Publicly publicized business plans will be an opportunity to restore vitality in fishing villages that are relatively behind the city center due to the decrease and decline in the fishing population. Six items of public nature (accessibility, relationship, community, placeness, safety, sustainability) were extracted in accordance with the purpose of the New Deal project by analyzing the existing research. It evaluated the public nature of the eight selected project areas and analyzed how to express. A common project focused on improving the convenient and safe fishing environment of residents' fishing activities was promoted. In the case of tourism income generation and tourism activities specialization projects, evaluation of relationship, community and placeness was consistent. In fishing village development, which shares the sea as a resource for living and production, it is essential to secure publicness not only for improving local life but also for communication with tourists. Since the New Deal project is still in its beginning stage, it is also necessary to evaluate the project after completion and the S/W project.
