Study on Improvement of Living SOC Complex Facilities Using Comparative Analysis on Perceptions of Users in Urban and Rural Regions

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide improvements for satisfying consumers’ demand levels, including the selection of facilities’ locations, the improvement orientation of a facility plan and qualitative improvement of space programs, by analyzing the perceptions of users in living SOC complex facilities. It developed a structured analysis framework by reviewing literature and analyzing previous research, and secured the objectivity of it, by conducting face-to-face interviews with and administering non-contact questionnaires to the subjects. It conducted frequency, average and cross-analysis, t-test, simple regression and IPA analysis, to comparatively analyze the differences in the use level, satisfaction level and demand level, perceived by residents in urban and rural regions. The findings showed that there are differences in use level, satisfaction level and demand level, between urban and rural regions, suggesting that institutional differentiation is required depending on local characteristics, and that the customized improvement of facility plans is also needed according to differences in circumstances.
