Among folk cultural heritages, villages and houses can be recognized for their cultural values and maintained for a long time only when they coexist with people. However, the original form is transformed by residents’ use and convenience, which can damage the landscape of cultural assets. Thus, the purpose of this study is to examine the preservation status of buildings in Jeju Seongup Village, which has a long history and has the largest number of residents among traditional Korean Villages designated as folk cultural heritage. In particular, we were investigated and analyzed the changes made since the designation of cultural assets for all buildings built inside town of Seongeup Village, focusing on Jeonguihyeon Town Fortress. Among them, samples caused by unauthorized cultural heritage's change of original form were investigated and more closely analyzed using annual aerial photograph, field survey, and building ledger. As a result, many buildings confirmed that finishing materials used in traditional house of Jeju were modernized. By considering the causes of these changes, it seems that it can be used as a basic data for preservation and landscape restoration of Seongeup Village in the future.
