The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of publicness realization by the environmental improvement of a waterside park in of a neighborhood in Gyeongsan. The case park was originally undredged reservoir, but the park was renovated for users in 2014 by the addition of facilities and green space. This study surveyed 197 residents around the park to investigate their opinions and, their awareness of the roles and publicness of the changed park. The analysis consisted of calculation of the frequencies, as well as factor analysis and multiple regression analysis. The survey results revealed that, first, the residents visited the park in the evenings at least 1-2 time per week, for 1-2 hours. to exercise or relax. Second, the satisfaction with the park, its availability, and the image of the village increased after the reservoir improvement. However, the attachment was not substantially changed. Third, awareness of the social and leisure role of the park was high, but awareness of the diversity role was relatively low. In other words, people thought that the park was nice of interacting with neighbors and for relaxation, but they did not think the park had many interesting elements for residents. Forth, the role of urban safety on the park had a strong influence on the publicness realization of the neighborhood.
