Abstract

The purpose of this study is to suggest the planning direction of community open shared space in disabled community dwelling. The programs and spaces data, which were collected from disabled welfare-related 58 facilities in Seoul and 19 articles in online newspaper (2011-2018), were analyzed. In conclusion, 1) community programs in the shared space that can be suggested include cooking and eating activities, music hobby activities, sports activities, information exchange activities for families with disabilities or assistants, and housing management activities. The housing management activities is performed by skilled workers, so it is necessary to consider the workers arrangement in connection with the local government program. 2) community open shared space is naturally induced basic accidential encounters and conversations with disabilities or neighbors. Activities mentioned above should be accommodated in the spaces. Cooking facilities and furniture for meal-related activities, sound insulation for music activities, installation of facilities to support sports, and the separation of spaces for exchange for specific persons are needed. Also, if one community housing is provided with one specialized space out of five activities, and providing five community housings will make it easier for the disabled to enhance the community life. Therefore, one disable person or household of living in one community housing can enjoy various sharing activities.
