A Study on the Plan Composition and Distribution Characteristics of Traditional Housing in Chungcheongbuk-do 충북지역 전통주택 평면 구성과 분포 특성에 관한 연구

Abstract

This study was conducted with 74 households in the shape of 一 and ㄱ of the traditional house in Chungcheongbuk-do located in the center of the Korean Peninsula. Spatial compositional characteristics were derived by preparing an analysis table that derives continuous changes by classifying housing planes, and similarity between distribution characteristics within the region and adjacent area planes was derived through a traditional housing distribution map. As a result of the study, in the traditional society, housing maintains homogeneous characteristics in modern socio-cultural manner, but some heterogeneous cases were also found. This is meaningful in that the study derives the cultural tangent that the unique composition of the main housing space in a specific area may change under the influence of adjacent housing and cultures. In the future, research is planned to expand to a national scope and to research on life history and modern change.
