Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors influencing the neighborhood activities of the elderly residents among the satisfaction of physical and non-physical maintenance factors from the viewpoint of the elderly residents. For this purpose, we try to obtain policy implications by conducting PLS regression analysis to analyze the relationship between satisfaction with neighborhood activity and satisfaction with detail maintenance factor. The results of this study are as follows: First, the establishment of the elderly shelter (old in-jeong) in the activation of the elderly’s neighborhood activities among the detailed maintenance items is an absolute maintenance factor. Second, it was analyzed that the residents preferential parking space, walking path, packing, and guidance system, which are designed to facilitate the elderly’s walking, have a very high influence on the neighborhood activities of the elderly. Third, it is found that providing an economic base through providing jobs for the elderly is the basis for activating the elderly’s neighborhood activities. It can be interpreted that the elderly who are economically stable are active in their neighborhood activities and their life satisfaction or quality is increased accordingly. The results of this study are expected to be important data for establishing a strategy for aged residents in urban renewal projects.
